Mainstay are proud to partner with a fast-growing service provider that is currently seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Engineer to join a dynamic team. If you have a strong background in designing and implementing wired and wireless networks, along with extensive knowledge of Azure services, Microsoft 365, and firewall solutions, we want to hear from you!
As a Senior IT Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Design and install wired and wireless networks, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Implement Azure services, including Azure Virtual Desktop, to support our clients’ cloud infrastructure.
- Design and configure Microsoft 365 services, ensuring seamless integration and efficient workflows.
- Install and configure Palo Alto firewall solutions, both on-premise and in Azure environments.
- Install and support Hyper-V and VMware workloads, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions to safeguard critical data and systems.
- Carry out network configuration changes, adhering to industry best practices.
- Document infrastructure installations, providing comprehensive documentation for future reference.
- Provide sound technical advice and recommendations to clients, ensuring their IT infrastructure meets their business needs.
- Liaise directly with customer IT departments to deliver and complete projects successfully.
- Provide 3rd-line support to our 1st and 2nd-line teams, resolving complex technical issues efficiently.
- Visit customer sites to conduct meetings, installations, and troubleshooting as required.
The successful Senior IT Engineer will have:
- Strong understanding of network concepts, particularly VLANs, L2, L3, and routing.
- Proficiency in networking protocols such as DNS, TCP/IP, and DHCP.
- Experience with Palo Alto Networks or other Firewall vendors.
- Solid knowledge of Windows Server operating systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure configurations and services.
- Good practical understanding of security principles and attack vectors.
- Virtualisation experience in Hyper-V and VMware, both in clustered (SAN) and standalone environments.
- Possession of a valid UK driving license.
