Mainstay Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a growing IT-managed service provider based in the Birmingham area. As part of their growth, they are seeking to hire an IT Field Engineer. This is an exciting role within an established and growing business.
The role
As an IT Field engineer, you will be responsible for efficiently and effectively installing desktops, laptops and mobile devices at customer sites. Your expertise and commitment to delivering high-quality work will play a vital role in ensuring customer satisfaction and the successful operation of our products.
The ideal candidate must be able to:
- Complete site surveys and technical documentation of deployed solutions in detail.
- Must be able to attend customer sites and provide professional customer service.
- Be a great communicator to discuss client expectations and complete handovers to the support team.
The ideal candidate must have experience in:
- Office 365 product portfolio, deployment and administration.
- Connecting devices to remote desktop solutions and thin technologies.
- Desktop OS and Office applications.
- Must have experience in setting up and deploying laptops, desktops and mobile devices.
- Endpoint Security Solutions.
The ideal candidate is required to have:
- Great customer service skills
- Knowledge of/interest in technology
- Be a confident communicator via email and telephone
- A methodical approach to troubleshooting issues
- Be a team player
- Hardware knowledge to be able to replace batteries, hard disks etc
- Driving licence
Experience/knowledge of the following would be advantageous:
- Windows server
- Active Directory
- Remote desktop technologies
- Windows operating systems
- Network fundamentals
- Installation of financial software
Responsibilities:
- Desktop, PC, Laptop and mobile devices rollout/migration.
- Assist with Cyber Essentials audit and remediation for customers.
- Software installation and upgrades as necessary.
- Assisting Senior Engineers with projects.
- Upgrade hardware as necessary.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to installation and maintenance.
- Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
