Mainstay is working with a bespoke FM service provider who is looking for a Business Development Manager for the waste part of the business. This is an exciting opportunity to join a business and grow a department, adding value using your existing skills and knowledge. Our client prides themselves on their unique approach and strong customer service with regular client meetings and thinking outside of the box to present solutions to their clients.
Our client is offering a competitive salary with the uncapped commission with the opportunity to grow with them and in turn, build on the existing business. You will primarily be dealing with new business but have a strong account management background.

Role
- As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for the account management of all existing clients, ensuring they are happy with their service and spotting potential for improvements and further opportunities.
- You will focus on winning new business and opportunities within the market using various platforms including existing databases, trade shows, and networking.
- You will be responsible for prospecting, making sales calls, and sending emails along with attending sales meetings with clients.
- Managing a sales pipeline to ensure you maximise all opportunities and the ability to forecast.
- Deal with any sales inquiries in a timely and efficient manner.
- Act as the ‘go-to’ for clients and manage their expectations.
- You will liaise with the operations team on a regular basis to ensure that all proposals are practical and deliverable.
- Working to companies’ KPI’s and driving performance and sales to ensure business growth.
Candidate
- Previous experience within a similar role is essential ideally within the built estate environment
- Extensive knowledge of the Waste Management industry
- Proven track record within a sales environment and must have consistently delivered
- Relevant qualifications and holding a degree or the equivalent is highly desirable
- Strong communicator with the ability to deal with staff at various levels
- Strong IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Suite
- Ambitious and driven with a desire to excel
