Mainstay are working with a large manufacturer who are looking to recruit for their office team in Derrylin. Our client has strong values and aims to strive for high standards and invests in their staff with lots of training and added benefits.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience ideally within a manufacturing environment and have experience purchasing raw materials.
What are the role and responsibilities?
- Managing daily purchasing activities, supervising staff, and allocating tasks.
- Reviews and authorises purchase orders.
- Provide strong procurement support to the business, local senior management team, engineering teams and other key internal stakeholders.
- Develop and issue RFI / RFP / RFQ activities for new and existing requirements and negotiate contracts with optimal terms, prices, timelines, etc.
- Ensure implementation and management of cost-advantaged contracts and price agreements.
- Conduct in-depth cost and spend analysis to develop target savings & cost reduction initiatives.
- Developing, tracking, and reporting for key functional metrics on cost reduction, efficiency, effectiveness, and team development.
- Training and developing new and existing employees in the purchasing process and how to use SAP.
- Developing, leading, and implementing purchasing strategies.
- Responsible for the supplier management process, selection, rating, supplier development and performance evaluation.
- Preparing and managing budgets.
- Maintaining compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Manage supplier performance to ensure all procured items and services meet all quality, delivery, and service requirements.
- Working to improve purchasing systems and processes.
What will you need?
- Ability to work independently and proven procurement/supply chain management experience in a manufacturing company.
- Project management skills and change management mindset with experience in driving change within a demanding timeframe.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Ability to gather and analyse data and work with figures.
- Problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Strong planning and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Results-focused and well-organized personality.
- Ability to travel to other sites and to suppliers’ premises.
