Mainstay is collaborating with a prominent FM service provider that operates throughout the UK. Due to their growth, they are seeking a vibrant and passionate Quantity Surveyor for their Wiltshire sites. The perfect candidate should have prior experience in construction or FM quantity surveying in both hard and soft service settings and have handled multiple projects simultaneously. In exchange, our client provides assistance and additional training, and career advancement opportunities.
Role
- Follow all policies and procedures related to health, safety, and sustainability, while providing assistance to the commercial group.
- Comply with business policy and procedures, supporting continual improvement.
- Proactively facilitating our client’s relationships with both internal and external customers by ensuring the completion of necessary commercial reports and documentation.
- Assist both internal and external customers by directing them to the appropriate contact or department to resolve their queries.
- Liaise with all staff including Area Managers, Site Managers, Project Managers, and the commercial team.
- Attend risk meetings, review risk registers, and follow risk management processes.
- Identify business priorities and plan work effectively, by building controls and milestones into plans and programmes.
- Explore future possibilities and opportunities for improvement, support change initiatives and identify alternative solutions.
- Support Area Relationship Improvement Plan with the client and manage stakeholders utilising experience to negotiate in line with business goal requirements.
- Obtain commitment from others by persuading, convincing and negotiating.
- Assist Principal Commercial Manager with dispute avoidance and any dispute resolution.
- Deliver change management in accordance with the contract ensuring timescales are met by all relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain commercial control to ensure planned milestone payments are achieved, and final accounts are closed to meet the business targets.
- Manage supplier payments in line with contractual and company policy.
- Provide post-contract cost control on billable works.
Candidate
- Previous experience within the FM and property sector ideally in the same role or similar
- Relevant qualifications and Health & Safety Awareness Training
- Commercial experience in construction, property maintenance, or a related field such as developing cost models, risk analysis & management
- Experience in preparation of work proposals/tenders and dispute resolution
- Excellent working knowledge of commercial processes and fraud prevention
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with client facing approach
